The position of Southwest North America Regional Reservoir Characterization Coordinator has been assigned.
This position along with the Regional PEEC Coordinator will be held by Billy Harris, Wagner & Brown. This gives the Southwest North America Region a great resource to disseminate knowledge throughout the globe on Reservoir Management and Characterizations along with accomplishing future visions with the public’s understanding and our youth’s education on the industry we work in.
Billy will hold these positions until he starts his newly elected position of Southwest North America Regional Director replacing Prentice Creel whom has served from 2004-2008.
Prentice Creel of Odessa was elected to the position of Director Southwest North America Region to serve the term from October 2005 through 2008. He had become the Director Southwest North America Regional for SPE replacing Bob Leibrecht who retired to fulfill the term from 2003 through 2005. Prentice is a past Director of the Trans-Pecos SPE Section and works for Halliburton as a Senior Technical Professional in Midland, Texas. He also serves on the Permian Basin Onshore Conference in conjunction with the International Onshore Oil Show as a director and facilities team member.
Kirk Edwards is currently serving as President of the Permian Basin Association of Producers.
Kirk Edwards of Odessa was appointed to the state's Oilfield Cleanup Fund Advisory Committee by House Speaker Tom Craddick, R-Midland in 2006.
Kirk, a Trans Pecos SPE Section Member and Section Director is the founder of the mineral and royalty investment firm The MacLondon Cos.
The committee oversees the use and distribution of the cleanup funds. The oil and gas industry is the sole source of the funds, which are used to plug abandoned wells and clean up well sites.
Kirk also serves as Vice President for the PBPA [Permian Basin Producers Association] and Past President for the Permian Basin International Oil Show.
