Message from the Co-Chairmen

Proceeds after conference expenses are met go to the scholarship funds of the Permian Basin and Trans-Pecos SPE Sections.  These scholarships are dedicated to Permian Basin area students pursuing petroleum and industry related engineering degrees.  Both the Permian Basin and Trans-Pecos SPE Sections appreciate the Permian Basin International Oil Show providing this opportunity and providing major funding on this event to raise these scholarships for local students.

The conference provides a forum for presenting and exchanging valuable technical information that can be put to use immediately.  Our purpose is to give the end user in the field what he needs to improve the profitability of his operation. Speakers in our major presentation topics, panel discussions, and keynote addresses are focusing on those field and operating office personnel who will, on the same day, hear and discuss recent technology from our PBOT conference and see new and existing technology on display at the PBIOS.

Presentations and Links to Presenter Information

Session chairs are determining if presenters will offer the presentations or technology given at the conference for topic downloading or as an alternative - viewing via links to the author's websites. Once this information becomes available, a notice will be given.

Thanks one and all.

The Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), through its SPE Professional Development, will award Continuing Education Units (CEU) for participation and completion of SPE short courses, distance learning programs, applied technology workshops, and sanctioned learning activities. One CEU equals 10 Contact Hours of participation in a SPE continuing education activities, section meeting, or formal presentation.

A Certificate will be given by the Petroleum Onshore Technology Conference as a record of a participant's involvement and Contact Hour time.  The PBOT gives 4 Contact Hours each day of the conference.

The accumulation of Contact Hours may be used toward the 15 required Professional Development Hours (PDH) in the State of Texas for Professional Engineering License renewal by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers.  One PDH = 1 Contact Hour.

Sponsors will have their company's name displayed in all publications related to the event, as well as on-site at the event itself. The Sponsorship Form is attached and may be downloaded.

The Chairmen and Program Committee of the PBOT, a dynamic technical conference that will be held on October 19th & 20th in conjunction with the 2004 Permian Basin International Oil Show (PBIOS) at the Odessa Convention Complex, want to express their appreciation to the future Sponsors of this event.  Their funding to conduct this event along with the funding from the PBIOS will provide support to the Scholarship Funds of the Permian Basin and Trans-Pecos SPE Sections.
